Mark Brazil

Dr Mark Andrew Brazil is a conservationist, author and journalist, particularly noted for his work on east Asian birds.

Brazil was born in Worcestershire, England, and studied at Keele University, Staffordshire, and Stirling University, Scotland. Formerly professor of Biodiversity and Conservation at Rakuno Gakuen University, Hokkaido; previously scientific advisor/researcher for Natural History Television New Zealand.

Brazil has been 'Wild Watch' columnist for The Japan Times newspaper since April 1982, one of the longest running natural history newspaper columns.
