Indianapolis, IndianaMarquis Teague (born February 28, 1993) is an American college basketball player for the University of Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team. A point guard, he was one of the top rated high school basketball players in the class of 2011.
Contents
High school career
Teague was rated as the #5 player by Rivals.com,[1] and the #7 player by Scout.com[2] and in the ESPNU 100, and was the consensus top ranked point guard in his class.[3] In July 2010, Teague, along with future Kentucky teammate Michael Gilchrist, were a part of the gold medal winning team in the FIBA U-17 World Championships in Hamburg, Germany.[4]
College career
Teague committed to Kentucky on April 22, 2010. He chose the University of Kentucky over the University of Louisville, among other schools.[5] Teague will start playing with Kentucky in the 2011–12 basketball season.
Personal life
Teague's family includes his mother Carol, his cousin, and former Purdue basketball player, David Teague, and his brother Jeff Teague, point guard of the Atlanta Hawks,[6]
