"No Time for Tears" is a song by The Enemy from their second album Music For The People. The song debuted on Radio 1 at 7pm on the 16/2/09. Following the premier of the song, the band were interviewed to discuss their "New Punk Sound"[1]. The song entered the UK Singles Chart at #16 on 19 April 2009, marking the band's fourth UK Top 20 single. Despite it only reaching this position, it is the band's fastest selling single, selling 12,606 units in its first week.

Sound

The beginning of the song resembles that of This Is England by the punk band The Clash (who have been listed by The Enemy as one of their biggest influences).[2]

The song in general also evokes memories of Love Spreads by The Stone Roses, with slide guitar and a more incandesant feel. It also as track mimics the step The Stone Roses took with their second album Second Coming, with increased drums and a much larger sound.
