Albert Anthony "Albie" Lopez (born on August 18, 1971 in Mesa, Arizona) was a pitcher who played for several teams in Major League Baseball. He graduated from Mesa Community College. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 20th round of the by|1991 major league baseball draft. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the second round (48th pick overall) of the expansion draft in by|1997. The Devil Rays traded López to the Arizona Diamondbacks in by|2001, where he was part of the world series winning team. He was criticized for his poor performance on the team, which lead him to sign with the Atlanta Braves at the end of that season. He then signed with the Kansas City Royals for the by|2003 season. He then signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates in by|2005, but was released on March 23, 2005.
