Rebecca Maddern (born 6 August 1977) is an Australian journalist and news reporter and presenter for the Seven Network. She is based in the Melbourne newsroom and presented the national afternoon edition of Seven News: the 4:30 news, until the bulletin moved to the network's Sydney studios.

Maddern also occasionally reads the news on "Sunrise", if Natalie Barr or Simon Reeve are unable to read the news. She has also filled in for her replacement on the 4.30 news, Samantha Armytage, on occasion, from the Sydney newsroom however. On 24 March 2007, a 7 News Melbourne special entitled Understanding Climate Change aired at 5.30pm, before the news, Rebecca hosted this. This is a progression from a series of informative Commercials she has been fronting for the Victorian State Government about energy and water conservation.

Maddern started off her career in radio after she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from the RMIT University in 1999. Later she became a sports reporter for Melbourne radio station Triple M, whilst there she worked alongside some of the top media personalities of Australia.

For a short time she read the news at Fox FM. Maddern later moved to Nova 100 and then to the Seven Network. It was there in her first year of television reporting, she won a prestigious Quill Award for her coverage of Victoria's January 2003 bushfires.

In summer 2006-07 she married Geelong real estate identity, James Wilson.

Maddern plays a big part in 7 Melbourne's annual Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal Telethon. In 2007, like previous years, she presented a special Seven News bulletin for Victoria at 12 noon, since the regular Morning News edition was not aired. Later, she played a large part in the telethon proper, presenting the results for country Victoria in the Country Tally room.

On 12 April 2007, a Canberra reporter aired an expletive during a story about politicians returning to Canberra in the network's 4:30pm news bulletin, presented by Maddern. Seven Sydney News Director Chris Willis later apologised for the gaffe, "the reporter is mortified, she thought she was off-air."

For the week beginning Monday 4 June 2007, Maddern presented Seven Morning News from the studios in the Seven Melbourne digital broadcast centre. The bulletin was presented from Melbourne due to rehearsals for "The Morning Show" taking place at the network's Sydney studios. This is where she presented the 4.30 news from until it was moved to Sydney.

Recently, Maddern has become the face of the "That's Melbourne" campaign. Originally hosted by the Nine Network with its own personality Livinia Nixon, it is designed to get the people of Melbourne to explore the city more. Peter Mitchell accompanies Maddern with these advertisements, along with his "Mitch's Melbourne" advertisements.

On 13 October 2007, Maddern, Peter Mitchell and Jennifer Keyte hosted a programme that aired after the 6pm news called Absolutely Melbourne: Spring in the City.Maddern continues to present bulletins for the network, often filling in for Jennifer Keyte on the weekend edition of Seven News in Melbourne and occasionally fills in for Peter Mitchell, or Seven Morning News and Seven 4.30 News, or Seven Late News and presents the weekend bulletin of Seven News Melbourne during Summer.Maddern currently reports for Seven News Melbourne, often live reports.
