List of universities in New Zealand

This is a list of universities in New Zealand. In 2009, there were 469,107 students enrolled in higher education. Of this total, 33 percent were enrolled at a university, and 9 percent were international students.[1] The former University of New Zealand ran from 1870 to 1961, it was a federal university comprising the six earliest universities as constituent colleges.
