Marcus LaJuan Pollard (born February 8, 1972) is a former American football tight end.

College career

Pollard attended Bradley University, where he played basketball. Bradley did not have a football program at the time he matriculated there. He played basketball as a power forward – two years starting at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas before transferring to Bradley University where he also started for two years.

Pro career

Pollard was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 1995. He developed into one of the better pass-catching tight ends while with the Colts. His best season was in 2001 when he totaled 47 receptions and 8 TDs including one for 86 yards. After being phased out of the Colts offense due to the emergence of Dallas Clark, Pollard would join the Detroit Lions for two seasons. Pollard has also been a member of the Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.

Retired Years

Pollard is coaching high school football for Lanett High School in Alabama. Pollard is the offensive coordinator under his brother-in-law Kent Story, who is the Head Coach. Lanett is a 2A school on I-85 near the Georgia border.

Pollard is participating in The Amazing Race 19 with his wife, Amani.^[1]

The Amazing Race 19

Marcus raced with his wife, Amani, on the The Amazing Race 19. So far they have placed 5th on the first leg, 9th on the second leg, 6th on both the 3rd Place and 4th Place legs, 1st on the 5th leg. On the 6th leg, Marcus revealed that the couple have four children and that their youngest daughter has a developmental disability. The couple came in last on the 6th leg but stayed in the race when the host revealed that it was a non-elimination leg. Due to their last-place finish on the previous leg, the 7th leg included a Speed Bump task which only they had to perform. The couple completed a slide-puzzle of the Malawi national flag, and then they ended the 7th leg in 4th Place and avoided elimination. On the 8th leg of the race, Marcus and Amani placed 4th, making them one of the five remaining teams. And on the 9th leg of the race, Amani and Marcus were placed 1st, could make them to be one of the final four teams left in the race.
