On the 6th leg, Marcus revealed that the couple have four children and that their youngest daughter has a developmental disability. The couple came in last on the 6th leg but stayed in the race when the host revealed that it was a non-elimination leg. Due to their last-place finish on the previous leg, the 7th leg included a Speed Bump task which only they had to perform. The couple completed a slide-puzzle of the Malawi national flag, and then they ended the 7th leg in 4th Place and avoided elimination. On the 8th leg of the race, Marcus and Amani placed 4th, making them one of the five remaining teams. And on the 9th leg of the race, Amani and Marcus were placed 1st, could make them to be one of the final four teams left in the race.
