Middleton also hosts Middleton Cheney Pre-School in the Methodist school rooms; it has been running for over 20 years. Windmill Nursery offers care for children prior to attending school.

Vice-Admiral Lancelot Holland

Banbury's Admiral Holland pub is named after Middleton Cheney's local hero, Vice-Admiral (posthumously Admiral) Lancelot Holland,[2] who was in commanded of the British navel forces during the Battle of Denmark Strait in May, 1941 against the German's battleship Bismarck. He died captaining the HMS Hood in World War II when attacking the Bismark in the Denmark Straits.
