East Central High School is one of nine high schools in Tulsa Public Schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The school is home to 1,177 students from East Tulsa. The absence of windows from almost all classrooms creates a prison look. The school is affectionately referred to as just E.C. by students.

Two schools feed into East Central: Stephen Foster Middle School and Lewis & Clark Middle School (though some Lewis & Clark students go on to attend Will Rogers High School).

History

East Central was founded by Spencer Elliot Thompson in 1904 as an independent school district. The district was later annexed by Tulsa Public Schools. The current school facility opened in 1966 with additions of East Wing in 1978 and Stadium in 1997. East Central is the most culturally diverse high school in the state of Oklahoma.
