C with stroke

C with stroke

unicode|Ȼ (minuscule: unicode|ȼ) is a letter of the Latin alphabet, formed from C with the addition of a stroke through the letter. Its minuscule form is used in some phonetic transcription systems for a voiceless alveolar affricate (IPA2|ts), and the Saanich alphabet uses its majuscule form (the alphabet is caseless) for a labialized voiceless velar stop (IPA2|kʷ).

Use on computers

unicode|Ȼ was not added to Unicode until version 4.1 in 2005, and previously did not exist in character sets. Consequently, few fonts can display it. The cent sign is often substituted for it instead.
