The station previously aired a
Regional Mexican format. Prior to Spanish Language programing, the station airedHot AC and CHR formats. In the 1970s, KINT aired on a frequency of 97.5 kilohertz and was known as "Kint-98", playing top 40 and disco hits until 1982. KINT began on 1590 AM in 1959, adding the 97.5 FM in 1969. Larry Daniels owned the station when the FM was added. Jim Tabor (formerKLIF Dallas jock) and his father bought the stations in 1974. They had studios and the 1590 AM transmitter at 5300 El Paso Drive. They moved the offices to the 5959 Gateway Blvd West building near Bassett Center, then bought a building that became offices and studios at 5710 Trowbridge Ave aka Radio Center. Tabor changed the AM calls and format in 1979 to KKOL "Kol" oldies. He sold the AM to Gary Acker in 1981. That station became KELP (another call sign used on several stations). KINT-FM was sold to a new company Great American broadcasting, Inc long with the then KELP (AM) 920. Both were redubbed KYSR, and after 1985 KBNA. On1994-03-18 , the station changed its call sign to KSVE, on1994-05-20 to the current KINT-FM, [ cite web|url=http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/call_hist.pl?Facility_id=51709&Callsign=KINT-FM |title=KINT-FM Call Sign History |work=United StatesFederal Communications Commission , audio division ]References
