History

Historically, there were two Neuzina's, that later merged: Srpska Neuzina (Serb Neuzina) i Hrvatska Neuzina (Croat Neuzina).
Srpska Neuzina (in Hungarian sources: Szerb-Neuzina) was few miles southwards from Szárcsa (today Sutjeska) and few miles westwards from Sečanj, while Hrvatska Neuzina (in Hungarian sources: Horvát-Neuzina) was in the very neighbourhood, located southwestwards from Srpska Neuzina, few miles northeastwards from Botoš.
Hrvatska Neuzina got its name after Croatian settlers (nobles that originated from Turopolje), that were settled there by the Diocese of Zagreb on its possessions.
These Croats lived in compact part of the village; they have been slowly but evidently in large amounts assimilated. Still, this assimilation hasn't drawn the attention of Croat parties in Serbia.[1]
