Marc Zumoff is an Emmy Award-Winning American sportscaster who currently calls play-by-play for the Philadelphia 76ers on Comcast Sportsnet in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Zumoff is in his 17th season as the Sixers television play-by-play announcer, and his 29th as a part of the 76ers broadcast team. Zumoff, a Philadelphia native, was officially named play-by-play announcer on Aug. 17, 1994. He has been honored with an Emmy for best sports play-by-play broadcaster ten times. During the summer, he co-hosts several stops on the Sixers Summer Hoops Tour.

Other work

Zumoff's various freelance assignments include hosting the news and public affairs show Radio Times with Marty Moss-Coane on the local National Public Radio affiliate WHYY-FM. Zumoff has done play-by-play for NBA-TV and for Turner Sports' coverage of the NBA, including both regular season and playoff games, the network's coverage of the Goodwill Games, as well as play-by-play for CN8's coverage of college football.

Prior Work

Prior to joining the Sixers broadcast team full time, Zumoff was a part of the now-defunct PRISM Sports Network and has done play-by-play for a variety of events and teams in the region, including the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia Big 5 and the Philadelphia Fever of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Zumoff broke into television as the play-by-play talent for the Fever which helped lead to his position with PRISM. During his days at Temple University, Zumoff announced Owl football and basketball games. Following his graduation from Temple, he had stints at WBUD and WTTM Radio in Trenton, NJ. and WHWH Radio in Princeton, NJ.

Other Endeavors

He also appears regularly at community functions on behalf of the team and spearheads two annual charitable endeavors: the Tee off with Zumoff golf outing in September to benefit the Pathway School for learning disabled students and the Points for Peace 3-on-3 basketball tournament at the Palestra in March. He also runs a broadcast coaching business which helps aspiring broadcast performers break into the business. He is also looking to author a book on the same topic. Zumoff has been known to make frequent stops back to Temple University, his alma mater, to speak to students on how to break into broadcasting.

Personal life

Zumoff lives in suburban Philadelphia with his wife Debbie and their two sons Jake (22) and Pace (17). He was born in Philadelphia, PA
