Dornakal is a town in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh. The town is important as a railway junction from where a branch line emanates to Manuguru and is also on the Vijayawada - Warangal mainline it connects South India. And also because it is the headquarters of the 'Dornakal Diocese of the Church of South India.

The town also houses the Cathedral Church of the Epiphany of Our Lord, which was designed and built in 1939 by Vedanayagam Azariah the first bishop of the diocese. It is said to be the second biggest church in South India.

The town also has a high school run by the diocese for the deaf and the dumb.

Transport

The state-run APSRTC runs buses to connect to all parts of the state.

The Indian Railways is planning a high speed link passing through Hyderabad - Dornakal - Vijayawada - Chennai.[1]
