List of network protocols

This is an incomplete list of network protocols, categorized by their nearest OSI model layers. Many of these protocols, however, are originally based on the Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) and other models and often do not fit neatly into OSI layers. For reference to TCP/IP categories see the table to the right.
