Schedules Direct is a non-profit organization that provides a television program listing service for a small fee, presently $20/year.cite web|url=http://www.schedulesdirect.org/membershiplevels|title=Schedules Direct Membership|accessdate=2007-09-22] It was created by developers from several different F/OSS projects including, XMLTV , GB-PVR, and MythTV in response to Zap2It's decision to shutdown its Data Direct program listing service to MythTV users as of September 1, 2007.cite web|url=http://mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Schedules_Direct|title=Schedules Direct|accessdate=2007-08-10] TV program listings are primarily used by digital video recorder software to display an on-screen electronic program guide. Schedules Direct states they are primarily interested in providing low-cost television program listings to users of open source and freeware applications.
