Matjaž Smodiš (born on December 13, 1979 in Trbovlje, SR Slovenia SFR Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian professional basketball player. He is currently playing for KK Cedevita in Croatia.^[1]

Pro career

Smodiš' previous teams were Krka Novo Mesto of the Slovenian League and the Italian League clubs Virtus Bologna and Climamio Bologna. Smodiš has been playing with the Russian League club CSKA Moscow since the year 2005, being one of the team's major stars.

Slovenian national team

Smodiš has also played for the senior Slovenian national basketball team. With Slovenia's national team he played at the 1999 FIBA European Championship, the 2001 FIBA European Championship, and the 2007 FIBA European Championship.
