The Regiment of Ardennian Rifles ( _fr. Régiment de Chasseurs Ardennais) is an infantry regiment in the Land Component of the Belgian Armed Forces. The regiment is a part of the 7th Brigade. It has inherited the traditions of the 1st Division of Ardennian Rifles and of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ardennian Rifles Battalion.

History

On 16 October 1830, the second Regiment of Namur is created. Its name is changed into the 10th Regiment of the Line on 25 November 1830. On 10 March 1933, the 10th of the Line assumes the name of "Regiment of Ardennian Rifles". One year later, the Regiment is split up into the 1st, the 2nd and the 3rd Ardennian Rifles Battalion. In 1994, the 2nd and the 3rd Ardennian Rifles Battalion are disbanded and the 1st is transformed into a Regiment.
