Steve Burguiere

Steve Burguiere

Steve Burguiere, known better as "Stu," (born February 9, 1976) is an American radio producer and personality, best known as the executive producer and the head writer of "The Glenn Beck Program" on Premiere Radio Networks.

Early and personal life

Burguiere was born in Tarrytown, New York, but grew up in the state of Connecticut. After high school, he was an intern at the New Haven radio station KC101. He started in the promotions department, working his way up to producer of the "Glenn Beck Morning Show". He also did voice-over work and recorded commercials for the Metabolife company. Burguiere met his future wife at KC101, Lisa Paige, currently the co-host of the morning show on Q-102 in Philadelphia. Lisa also works at Q102's sister station Z100 in New York City. She made her first national television debut on NBC as the announcer for the 2005 Radio Music Awards.

Burguiere is a vocal fan of the Philadelphia Eagles NFL football team. Burguiere is a vegetarian and plays guitar.

Radio life

Glenn Beck left KC101 to work in talk radio at WFLA in Tampa. Burguiere produced and hosted an hour-long retrospective of Beck's career in radio for his last show in New Haven, featuring clips of Beck on the radio from his start as a teenager through his years at KC101. Soon after, Burguiere took his job as co-host of the morning show with Vinnie Penn. After a year, he moved to Tampa to produce the "Glenn Beck Program", and host "The Stu Show" on Saturdays on WFLA. He introduces many humorous elements to the show, posing as celebrity callers (such as Obama advisor "Honkey Whitesville", a parody of real-life Obama advisor Jason Furman) and generally provides a friendly counterpoint to Beck. Burguiere and fellow staff member Dan Andros occasionally host after-show shows on Beck's Insider audio stream. Burguiere has filled in as host for Beck twice since the show became nationally syndicated.

Burguiere now hosts an "After Show Show", an hour-long program available to subscribers of Beck's website, the "Insiders," every Friday at 12:00 Noon EST when Beck is in the studio.

Political views and activism

On November 2, Election Day 2004, Burguiere flew to Columbus, Ohio to participate in Project Longface. This was a project started to campaign against John Kerry. A giant Waffle-Head John Kerry Float drove all over Columbus and through a P.A. system falsely informed people that Democrats were supposed to vote on Wednesday while Republicans still vote on Tuesday.

Burguiere is a strong supporter of the death penalty, especially for child molesters. He half-seriously, half-jokingly supports a policy of throwing child molesters alive into an incinerator. He has disagreed with Glenn Beck on the death penalty for many years, often discussing it live on the radio.

He produced a charity single for the victims of the tsunami in Indonesia. His group, Stu and The Blackhearts recorded a remake of "We Are the World". The group featured staff members from the Glenn Beck Program and the single raised over $15,000.

Miscellaneous

In February 2005, Beck was able to obtain Super Bowl tickets for him. Since Burguiere had never attended an Eagles game in which they lost, he believed that his presence would secure a victory. After the Eagles' defeat, Beck blamed Burguiere and for punishment, he was forced to go to different locations and perform stunts similar to a shock jock in Philadelphia such as wearing a New England Patriots shirt and shouting anti-Philadelphian statements. The events were archived on Beck's website in a section called "Stu's Friday Adventure". [http://www.glennbeck.com/news/02162005.shtml]

In June 2005, Burguiere was forced to cancel an appearance at an event due to illness in which he had to miss introducing Eagles head coach Andy Reid.

On January 29, 2006, he co-hosted "The Fisher Files" on WFLA with Jeff Fisher.

Burguiere has a column in the Glenn Beck Program's Fusion Magazine.

Burguiere released his first book, [https://members.premiereinteractive.com/ows-img/glennbeck/pages/28585/41387_17987.htm Cliches, The Worst Thing Since Sliced Bread] , on November 29, 2006.

Burguiere is credited as a writer on Glenn Beck's "An Inconvenient Book" released November 2007.
