Its seat is the town of Trzebiatów, which lies approximately convert|17|km|mi|0 north of Gryfice and convert|85|km|mi|0|abbr=on north-east of the regional capital Szczecin.

The gmina covers an area of convert|225.44|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 16,803 (out of which the population of Trzebiatów amounts to 10,113, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 6,690).

The gmina has a two sea resorts - Mrzeżyno and Rogowo.
