"State" is an Irish monthly music magazine launched in March 2008. Issue 02 was out on April 2 2008 and featured Muse on the cover. "State" is published by Roger Woolman and edited by two "Hot Press" alumni, John Walshe and Phil Udell. Contributors include "Evening Herald" columnist, "The Irish Times" reviewer and blogger Sinead Gleeson, Rolling Stones writer Kara Manning, award-winning blogger Niall Byrne (a.k.a. Nialler9 [cite web|url=http://www.nialler9.com/blog/|title="nialler9 - Music/Mp3 Blog "|date=2008-045-11|accessdate=2008-05-11|publisher="nialler9"] ), "Event Guide" writer David O'Mahony and "The Star" feature writer Tanya Sweeney.

As of September, 2008 "State Magazine" has redeveloped its website (www.state.ie) and confirmed that there would not be a September edition of the Magazine as they were overlooking future production of the magazine. Since October 2008 the magazine has been be available for free of charge from a number of venues around Ireland's major cities and online from the magazine's website, following a number of other magazines such as Mongrel, Connected and Analouge Magazine in providing their print content free of charge.
