Now 56 features eight songs which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart: "Where Is the Love?", "Slow", "Be Faithful", "Crazy in Love", "Hole in the Head", "Are You Ready for Love", "Never Gonna Leave Your Side" and "Mad World".

This would be the last Now album until Now 68 that featured an artist who also featured on the first Now album, as UB40 appear.

The last track, "Mad World", which even though two years old at the time of Now 56's release, it was predicted it would be a hit later in the year, due to its inclusion. It peaked at #1 in the charts over Christmas 2003.
