Nakatsugaru (中津軽郡 Nakatsugaru-gun?) is a district located in Aomori Prefecture. The district has an estimated population of 1,599 with a total area of 246,58 km².(2006)

The district contains only one village.

  • April 1, 1889
    • Due to the city status enforcement, the city of Hirosaki was formed.
    • Due to the municipal status enforcement, the following villages were formed. (16 villages)
      • Shimizu, Watoku, Toyoda, Horikoshi, Chitose, Fujishiro, Niina, Funasawa, Takasugi, Susono, Higashimeya, Iwaki, Ōura, Komagoshi, Sōma (All now part of the city of Hirosaki)
      • Nishimeya
  • March 1, 1955 (3 villages)
    • The villages of Shimizu, Watoku, Toyoda, Horikoshi, Chitose, Fujishiro, Niina, Funasawa, Takasugi, Susono, and Higashimeya merged into the city of Hirosaki.
    • The villages of Iwaki, Ōura, and Komagoshi merged to form the village of Iwaki.
  • February 1, 1961 - The village of Iwaki gained town status to become the town of Iwaki.(1 town, 2 villages)
  • February 27, 2006 - The town of Iwaki and the village of Sōma merged with the city of Hirosaki to form the city of Hirosaki. (1 town)
