Chicopee Memorial State Park

Chicopee Memorial State Park is a Massachusetts state park located in the Burnett Road neighborhood of Chicopee. The park is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Description

Chicopee Memorial State Park is a 575-acre (2.33 km2) park principally used for swimming, fishing, and picnicking. The park is located directly southeast of Westover Joint Air Reserve Base, and the base can be seen from some parts of the park.

Formerly the Cooley Brook Reservoir and Watershed, the park includes two 25-acre (100,000 m2) ponds.

Some of the trails in this park are also used as the cross country course for the city's high schools.

Chicopee State Park is also the home of the District HQ for the Massachusetts Bureau of Forest Fire Control, District 11.
