Corinth is a small town in Denton County, Texas, United States, a suburb of Dallas, and a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The population was 11,325 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Corinth is located at 33°8′38″N 97°4′20″W / 33.14389°N 97.07222°W / 33.14389; -97.07222 (33.143952, -97.072194)^[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.9 square miles (20 km²), of which, 7.9 square miles (20 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km²) of it (0.63%) is water.

Demographics

As of the census^[1] of 2006, there were 19,556 people residing in the city. The population density was 1,441.3 people per square mile (556.3/km²). There were 4,100 housing units at an average density of 521.8 per square mile (201.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 88.57% White, 4.19% African American, 0.66% Native American, 2.38% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 2.25% from other races, and 1.88% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.09% of the population.

There were 3,879 households out of which 47.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 79.2% were married couples living together, 4.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 13.4% were non-families. 9.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 1.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.92 and the average family size was 3.12.

In the city the population was spread out with 30.5% under the age of 18, 4.7% from 18 to 24, 42.9% from 25 to 44, 18.6% from 45 to 64, and 3.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 101.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.7 males.

According to a 2007 estimate, the median income for a household in the city was $95,967, and the median income for a family was $96,375. Males had a median income of $52,362 versus $35,089 for females. The per capita income for the city was $30,492. About 1.0% of families and 1.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.6% of those under age 18 and 2.0% of those age 65 or over.
