Cloud Lake is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 167 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Cloud Lake is located at 26°40′30″N 80°4′24″W / 26.675°N 80.07333°W / 26.675; -80.07333 (26.675043, -80.073351)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2), all land.

Demographics

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 167 people, 62 households, and 43 families residing in the town. The population density was 2,651.8 inhabitants per square mile (1,074.7/km²). There were 68 housing units at an average density of 1,079.8 per square mile (437.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 87.43% White (of which 68.9% were Non-Hispanic Whites,)[4] 2.99% African American, 7.78% Asian, and 1.80% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 30.54% of the population.

There were 62 households out of which 30.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.5% were married couples living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.6% were non-families. 25.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.33.

In the town the population was spread out with 25.7% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 85.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.4 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $55,625, and the median income for a family was $57,292. Males had a median income of $31,250 versus $30,833 for females. The per capita income for the town was $24,311. None of the population or families were below the poverty line.

As of 2000, English was the first language of 100% of its residents. It, along with Briny Breezes, Golf, and Jupiter Inlet Colony were the only municipalities in Palm Beach county with all residents having the mother tongue of English.[5]
