They are residential structures representative of the Late Victorian and turn of the 20th century revival styles. They were built between 1854 and 1926 and developed as a middle-class suburban community. The earliest dwelling is the Smith-Collins House at 323 Palisades Avenue. It was built in 1854 and extensively remodeled in 1875 in a High Victorian Gothic style. Most of the remaining dwellings were built after 1900.[2]
